About Julio

Julio Mayo is a Professional Hair Stylist and Beauty Consultant with more than 20 years of experience, specializing in image creation, beauty enhancement, and all aspects of the beauty service industry. Known for his passion, creativity, and artistic vision, Julio brings innovation and entrepreneurial spirit to every project and client experience.

Julio began his career at the age of 18 in 1996, inspired by strong family roots — his father was a barber. He discovered his passion for the art of creating beauty while working in various hair salons and beauty studios in his native Cuba. Through dedication and continuous learning, he quickly developed a loyal clientele and a reputation for excellence.

In 2001, Julio opened his own salon, attracting celebrities, artists, sophisticated clients, and a diverse group of loyal customers who appreciated his unique style and professionalism.

In 2006, Julio was hired by Ocean View Monaco, where he worked for six years with MSC Cruises as a full-service hairstylist. During this time, he created customized looks for VIP guests, interacted with people from around the world, and worked with celebrities, distinguished guests, and clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. This international experience helped refine his skills and expand his artistic vision.

In 2013, Julio began working for an Italian corporation serving the cruise industry, providing consulting and training in the hair and beauty sector. He became a professor for graduated hairstylists, helping professionals perfect and elevate their skills to the next level.

During this time, Julio also worked on fashion shows and live performances in Havana. He became an image consultant on television, offering beauty advice and sharing his expertise with a wide audience. His presence quickly gained popularity, contributing to high ratings for the program.

His professional experience also includes working with Telemundo during the Miss Latina Universo 2014 beauty pageant. Julio is fluent in Spanish, Italian, and English, allowing him to connect with clients from all over the world.

In 2015, Julio decided to pursue new opportunities in the United States. On July 4th, 2015, he immigrated to the U.S., leaving behind a loyal following of clients and students who deeply valued his work. He attended the Nouvelle Institute in Miami, Florida, where he obtained his Cosmetology license.

In 2016, Julio joined a high-end salon at Danny Jelaca Salon as a Master Stylist and Colorist in the prestigious South of Fifth neighborhood in Miami Beach. There, he continued to build his reputation as a precision haircut specialist and color expert.

In 2026, Julio took the next step in his career by opening his own business at Salon Lofts Miami Beach, located at 5th Street & Alton Road. As a Haircut Master and Color Specialist, Julio continues to serve clients from around the world, as well as loyal clients who follow him wherever his career takes him.

With over two decades of experience, Julio remains dedicated to delivering exceptional results, personalized service, and timeless, sophisticated looks that enhance each client’s natural beauty.
